Youth Mission Trip News 2006 The youth are back from the 2006 Mission Trip to Auburn, New York. We had a great time! Make no mistake, though. It was very hot. The work was difficult and some of us did not get to finish our projects. However, with nearly 400 people gathered there praising and worshiping God, the trials and difficulties seemed to just fade away and joy and peace prevailed. It was truly an amazing week. Our kids were amazing, too. I can’t say enough about them. They worked hard. They spoke of their faith openly and some of them led the noon devotionals with their teams. They even survived the evening devotionals that I led them in. I challenged them nightly to stretch and grow. In a sense, they were a captive audience. However, they seemed to thrive on my challenges and grew in their faith before my eyes. They are a great group of kids and I couldn’t be more proud of them. The adults were amazing, as well. The four adults were Anna Moshier, Laurie Krick, Faye Kintz, and Ken McCall. They all worked hard to keep me straight. The week went by without incident, even though logistically, it was the most difficult trip we have attempted. I want to thank you four for everything. You are great! Yes, we were crowded at times. We were hot most of the time. The work was difficult and challenging, but God showed up and spoke to us. We were touched by His presence, we grew in our faith, and I believe the people who were helped were touched, as well. I want to thank Bethel United Methodist Church for helping us and for supporting the youth like they do. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a few thousand words to check out. Youth Serve In West Virginia Five youth and two adults from Bethel
United Methodist Church in
Lewes, Delaware, returned recently from a mission trip to Elkins, West
Virginia. They performed many different tasks for people in need. This trip was made possible, in part, through the sale of stock to members of Bethel United Methodist Church and members of our local communities. On July 11, 2004, a stock appreciation luncheon was held for those who supported this trip. The youth and youth leaders wish to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the success of the 2004 Youth Mission Trip. Anyone who would like to support or participate in these trips can contact the Church at 302-645-9426 and ask for Pastor Kevin Gillespie.
